The Foundling (2018)

Paul Joseph Fronczak

2018

The Foundling by Paul Joseph Fronczak is an incredible true story.

In 1964 a newborn was stolen from a Chicago hospital.

Two years after the kidnapping a toddler turns up in Newark, New Jersey and everone decides that child is the missing Chicago baby, Paul Fronczak.

But it's not Paul, and much of Paul’s book is about the investigation he undertakes to find out who his biological parents are.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group.
