The Artful Dodger (2023) is an Australian television series, a sequel to the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist (1838).

Set in 1850s Australia, Jack Dawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster)—formerly the Artful Dodger—is a respected young surgeon. However, when Fagin (David Thewlis) arrives in Australia, Jack Dawkins is tempted back into a life of crime.

As a child, Jack/The Artful Dodger had been taken in by Fagin and taught how to become an effective pickpocket and leader of a gang of child criminals.

Before the end of the series, Oliver Twist (Hal Cumpston) - and one time friend of Jack Dawkins - now a wealthy man, makes an appearance in Sydney too.
