Pihu

2018

Pihu (2018) is an Indian film about a 2-year-old girl, Pihu (Myra Vishwakarma) who gets trapped inside her own house.

The film begins with the death of Pihu’s mother. Pihu’s father, Gaurav (Rahul Bagga) is away at a conference but he rings several times.

The film ends with the return of Gaurav who finds his dead wife, his daughter playing calming with her blocks, and his apartment messy and burned.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
