Maryland

2023

Maryland (2023) is a British family drama series. It tells the story of two sisters who travel to the Isle of Man on the death of their mother.

There they discover their mother, Mary, has in recent years reconnected with her birth mother.

Not much is told about the original adoption of Mary. What we do know is that she was happy in her birth mother’s house which now passes to her daughters.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
