Hear Me

Liz Hubbuck

2025

Groomed and abused twice as a child - both times by men in power, one a serving Metropolitan Police officer, who should have been caring for and looking after her - Liz could easily have crumbled. Instead, she spoke out and saw both of her attackers jailed for their horrific crimes.

As Liz says, she has a 100% success rate of putting child sex offenders behind bars. But Hear Me is more than one woman's story. it is about spreading awareness of child abuse, neglect, poverty and living in care and how that can impact one's whole life

Trauma warning: This archive contains material relating to care experience including references to abuse, neglect, sexual violence, and institutional harm.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
