He Even Has Your Eyes

2016

Sali and Paul and a married French-African call who finally receive a call that a 4 month old baby is available for them to adopt. Because the baby, Benjamin, is a white baby, much drama ensues as Sali's family will not accept a white baby as their grandson, the social worker subjects the couple to more surveillance that she does white couples, and the wider community assume Sali is the child's nanny, not her mother.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
