2002

Crow Lake (2002) by Canadian Mary Lawson tells the story of a family of 4 siblings after the death of their parents.

Luke, the oldest of the 4, gives up a plan to become a teacher so he can stay at home and care for his youngest siblings, while the 2nd oldest, Matt, gets to finish school.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
