Alex Drake is a police office with the London Metropolitan Police. She is shot in 2008 and regains consciousness in 1981.

Alex believes she is being sent back to 1981 to save her parents from their deaths.

After her parents died in a car bomb, 8-year-old Alex grew up in the foster care of her godfather, Evan White.

Alex Drake joined the Metropolitan Police Service when she finished school.
