Travelers

2016

Travelers (2016-2018) is a science fiction television series.

In a post-apocalyptic future, ‘travelers’ are tasked with being sent back in time. Their consciousness is transferred into “host” present-day individual, and their missions are intented to reduce the negative impact of the “host” on the future.

Series 3, Episode 3 has a focus on a teenager who has been in multiple foster homes over the years and in the future is set to become a serial killer.

The traveler whose mission it is to kill the boy treats him kindly, with respect and decency. Because of that positive treatment, the mission is aborted as the future for the boy has now changed.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
