The One That Got Away

2024

The One That Got Away (2024) is a British crime series.

A recent murder – of a nurse – is similar to the murders of 2 nurses 12 years previously. Yet, a man, Paul Harvey (Ian Puleston-Davies), has been convicted and imprisoned for those original murders.

This time, suspicion falls on the foster son of Paul Harvey. Mel Owen (Matthew Aubrey) is suffering from PTSD both from his time in foster care and from serving in Afghanistan, and is currently homeless.

However, *spoiler alert* Mel Owen is not the murderer.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
