The Bletchley Circle

2012

The Bletchley Circle (2012-2014) is a British mystery series.

Set in the early 1950s, it has 4 women who had worked as codebreakers at Bletchley Park come back together to solve crimes.

In Series 2, episodes 1 & 2 revolve around a 17 year old adoptee, Lizzy Lancaster (Faye Marsay). She has recently reunited with her biological father, a distinguished scientist (Paul McGann). Her biological mother (Hattie Morahan) has been convicted of his murder.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
