Ten Things Every Foster Child Wishes You Knew: A Guide to Fostering Hope

Rowan Aderyn

2024

Ten Things Every Foster Child Wishes You Knew is an insightful and deeply personal exploration of the foster care system, offering a unique perspective on the challenges and emotional needs of foster children. The care-experienced author provides a heartfelt guide for foster carers, social workers, and anyone involved in child welfare.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
