Something to be proud of - a film by Kinship

2021

“Something to be proud of” (2021) is a short, animated film, using balls of knitting wool, to tell the story of one child’s experience of ending up in kinship care.

The film was made by UK organisation, Kinship, in conjunction with production company My Pockets.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
