Quiz (2020) is a British drama series which tells the story of the cheating scandal on the TV quiz show Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

In 2001, army major Charles Ingram (Matthew Macfadyen) won the £1 million jackpot on the quiz show. He was later convicted – along with his wife Diana (Sian Clifford) and college lecturer Tecwen Whittock (Michael Jibson) – of cheating.

Mention is made in the series that Tecwen Whittock was in the UK care system as a child and he was complimented for having subsequently become a teacher.

Whittock reportedly received a 12-month suspended sentence plus a fine and costs. He resigned his lecturing job at Pontypridd College in Wales shortly after the court case. Apparently he became an after-dinner speaker talking about his experiences on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
