La Femme Nikita

1990

Anne Parillaud stars as Nikita, a drug-dependent homeless teenage delinquent, kills a police officer during a failed pharmacy robbery. In La Femme Nikita, she is sentenced to life imprisonment; in the American remake 'Point of No Return' (1993), she is condemned to death by lethal injection. In both versions, the government secretly fakes her death by drugging her, then coerces her into joining a covert agency that trains her to become an untraceable, elite assassin.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
