Jamaal Target: Phantom Agent

Isaac Hamilton-McKenzie

2026

In Isaac Hamilton-McKenzie’s Jamaal Target: PHANTOM Agent (2026), twelve-year-old Jamaal lives with his foster mum and discovers he has extraordinary superpowers after narrowly escaping a road accident, plunging him into a dangerous world of secret agents, super-soldiers and high-stakes missions when his best friend Myla is kidnapped. Alongside its fast-paced action and adventure, the story offers an authentic portrayal of a Black boy growing up in the care system, exploring his anxieties about getting into trouble at home, dealing with bullying at school and gradually developing confidence, self-belief and a strong sense of identity.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
