Down Cemetry Road

2025

Down Cemetery Road (2025) is a British series based on the eponymous Mick Herron novel.

Private Investigator Zoe Boehm (Emma Thompson) is persuaded by Sarah Trafford (Ruth Wilson) to investigate the murder of her PI husband Joe Silverman (Adam Godley).

Sarah had engaged Joe to investigate the disappearance of a girl, Dinah, after her mother was killed in a house explosion. Sarah is surprised by the hostility she experiences from staff when she goes to see the injured girl in hospital. She later sees Dinah being bundled into a car & driven way.

As the series proceeds, we know that Dinah is in the protective custody of the Ministry of Defence. The reason why unfolds during the series.

Trauma warning: This archive contains material relating to care experience including references to abuse, neglect, sexual violence, and institutional harm.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
