2017

Dark (2017) is a German sci-fi mystery series.

The story follows members of the fictional town of Winden, Germany as they try to work out what has happened after children go missing. They eventually uncover a time travel conspiracy spanning several generations.

The 1st season begins in 2019 when Mikkel Nielsen (Daan Lennard Liebrenz) goes missing. Mikkel emerges in 1986 and is adopted by a nurse, Ines Kahnwald (Anne Ratte-Polle).

Mikkel Nielsen becomes Michael Kahnwald (Sebastian Rudolph) and marries Hanah Kruger (Maja Schone). The couple have 1 child, Jonas, who is born in 2003.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too.
