Code of Silence

2026

Code of Silence (2025) is a British crime series about a deaf woman who helps police with her lip reading skills.

Set in Canterbury, England, Alison Woods (Roe Ayling-Ellis) works in a police canteen when she is approached to assist detectives in a criminal investigation. The police are using covert surveillance to observe a criminal gang they suspect are planning a jewellery heist.

Recruited by the gang is Liam Barlow (Kieron Moore), a computer hacker, whose part in the heist is to bypass security systems.

Liam Barlow, we find out, was in foster care & is motivated to help the gang because he intends to double cross them - 2 gang members were responsible for the death of his foster father.

Trauma warning: This archive contains material relating to care experience including references to abuse, neglect, sexual violence, and institutional harm.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
