Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023) is a historical drama series loosely based on the rise of Charlotte Mecklenburg-Strelitz to power in the late 18th century. It is a prequel spin-off of the Netflix Bridgerton series.

We learn in the opening scenes of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story that 17-year-old Charlotte (India Amarteifio) has been in the kinship care of her older brother, Adolphus (Tunji Kasim)—although for how long is not clear.

It is Adophus who has signed a contract to marry Charlotte to George III, King of Great Britain and Ireland.
