Peter and Lotta's Christmas

Elsa Beskow

2021

Peter and Lotta’s first Christmas with Aunt Green, Aunt Brown, Aunt Lavender, and Uncle Blue is full of magic — decorated trees, gingerbread, and gifts from the mysterious Christmas Goat. The children try to uncover the real source of the presents and prepare their own gifts for their adoptive family. On Christmas Eve, their thoughtfulness is unexpectedly rewarded.
A warm, humorous tale by Elsa Beskow, it highlights Swedish festive traditions, neighbourliness, and the gentle adventures of two orphans finding family. Originally published 1929 this is part of a series of books about Peter and Lotta.

Trauma warning: This archive contains material relating to care experience including references to abuse, neglect, sexual violence, and institutional harm.

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
