Wuthering Heights

Emily Brontë

2003

Wuthering Heights is an English novel by Emily Brontë that tells the turbulent, tragic love story of Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Found as an orphan and raised at Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff develops an intense bond with Catherine. However, when she chooses to marry Edgar Linton for social status, Heathcliff seeks revenge on both their families, leading to generations of suffering. The novel explores themes of love, obsession, revenge, and the destructive nature of passion, set against the wild, untamed Yorkshire moors. The novel is a classic of English literature

Children and young people in social care, and those who have left, are often subject to stigmatisation and discrimination. Being stigmatised and discriminated against can impact negatively on mental health and wellbeing not only during the care experience but often for many years after too. The project aims to contribute towards changing community attitudes towards care experienced people as a group. See glossary HERE
