Indigo Willing
Vietnamese Australian scholar, Indigo Willing, is a war orphan & adoptee.
Indigo Willing was one of the first orphans to be adopted by Australians during the Vietnam War (1954-1975).
Dr Willing had a happy childhood in Sydney, but she says there “was pressure to assimilate to an Australian Anglo Saxon culture.”
She now has a PhD in Sociology during which she examined adoption.
An enthusiastic skateboarder, Dr Indigo Willing has written extensively on adoption, skateboarding & multiculturalism.
